Problem Statement
In the manufacture of integrated circuits, very thin wires have to be fabricated. Manufacturing constraints limit the how close a pair of wires can be, and the minimum width of a wire. Normally, the constraints are defined in "lambda rules"--the minimum size of anything is one lambda, and every constraint is defined in multiples of this size.
To electrically connect two locations on a chip, we need to find a path for a wire between those locations, avoiding all existing obstacles.
